Training Programs

The Orlando Institute of Electrolysis was founded in 1987 and is licensed by the Commission for Independent Education, Florida Department of Education. The Institute strives to provide an educational environment that is both professional and clinical. Small classes enable instructors to focus attention on each students skills and seeks to train all students to their highest potential.

Our mission is to provide comprehensive, quality instruction in the necessary theory and practical skills a student will need to master in order to enter the electrolysis and skin care professions. We endeavor to train our students in a manner that enhances the development of self-confidence through knowledge, hands-on experience and repetitive practice.

In order to achieve these goals, we believe in providing our students with:

Our educational and training objective is to provide our students with the training they will need to master entry level skills and speed training, technical training and the professional attitudes and insights necessary for a successful career in the electrolysis and skin care industry.

Electrology Program

This combined program consists of 320 clock hours of instruction which provides comprehensive training in permanent hair removal. Theoretical training covers the biological study of the foundations of skin and hair, and the modalities of Thermolysis, Electrolysis, the Blend, and Laser and Light Based Hair Removal. Students will receive theoretical training and be tested on the following subjects: Anatomy, Endocrinology, Bacteriology, Dermatology, Sterilization, Electricity, follicle insertions and treatment. Demonstration and practical training on the latest computerized equipment will be provided. The curriculum will be presented in the form of lecture, class assignments, hands-on demonstration, student participation, theory and practical testing, class discussions, audio-visual aids and other related learning methods.

Upon successful completion of this program, graduates will be eligible to apply for licensure in the State of Florida. The Institute is also able to provide training to students who wish to practice outside the State of Florida with modified training programs that adapt to their state requirements. The Institute can assist in the selection of equipment necessary to practice electrolysis, and/or attempt to help place graduates per their request.

Facial Specialty Program

This program consists of 260 clock hours of instruction which provides comprehensive training in the cosmetology area of skin care including basic massage, facial treatments, skin care and skin disorders, cosmetic products and application, removal of unwanted hair from lower limbs, make-up, safety, sanitation and hygiene and career development requirements. Students will receive theoretical and practical training on all areas of skin care in a clinical environment. Upon successful completion of this program and becoming registered, the individual is then qualified to enter the field of skin care, cosmetics, make-up and hair removal as a professional Facial Specialist. This program is designed to teach all students with the latest technology and advancements in skin care.

Clinic equipment, supplies and products are comparable to those used in the industry. Throughout the curriculum subjects are presented in the form of lecture, class assignments, hands-on demonstration, student participation, theory and practical testing, class discussions, audio-visual aids and other related learning methods.
